UC Berkeley Cal Softball Field

Plant will demolish and rebuild the existing Cal Softball Field to meet safety and NCAA Division I competition standards. These upgrades will include improved field dimensions, training facilities, team locker rooms, permanent spectator seating, and access improvements.

The softball field will receive a new, 30,500-square-foot, two-story precast concrete structure that will house the bullpen, concourse, and press box, and an additional 1,511 permanent seats will be added, surrounding the field. Additionally, the renovations will include 8,500 square feet of enclosed spaces made up of locker rooms, press box, lounges, and training rooms. The field will receive new, fine-grained aggregate material in the infield, synthetic turf will replace grass in the outfield, and a new LED scoreboard will be installed for spectators. The project team will pursue LEED Gold certification.
