Green Building

Plant’s corporate philosophy includes a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. As a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, we fully support its mission to expand green building practices and education. Dozens of our employees are LEED Accredited Professionals, and we actively foster ongoing education in green building practices for our staff. Two decades ago, Plant completed The Thoreau Center, one of the country’s first projects to blend a historic renovation with green building technologies, and since that time we have completed numerous green projects. Our deliveries have achieved Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum LEED levels, as well as other green rating systems such as CHPS, CALGreen, and GreenPoint ratings.

Beginning with material selection and life cycle cost analysis during preconstruction through recycling materials and planting low-drought landscaping during construction, Plant provides our clients with smart, sustainable solutions that balance a project’s short- and long-term costs, maximize overall efficiency, and reduce carbon footprint.
